how do i see how many votes i have?
if you have been approved as a contestant, sign in with your username and password to view your profile. at the top of your profile page you will see your current number of public votes. voting is weighted 1/3 public, 1/3 deb shops, 1/3 jay mccarroll. only the public votes will appear on your profile page.
how can my friends and family vote for me
voting does not open until august 30, 2009 est. we will be accepting profiles up until august 29th.
where can i get the release form
download the model release form here. submissions will not be processed or accepted until a completed model release form is received. fax the completed form to: 1-888-624-4308 or scan and email the completed form modelcontestfax@debshops.com
uploading photos
all photos must be 1mb or less. photos must also be a .jpg file, and not a .jpeg file. if you have tried to load a .jpeg file, please just rename it, so it is a .jpg file and try again. the optimal pixel size for the photos is as follows: headshot (80px wide x 100px tall) and full body shot (300px wide x 400px tall). utilizing these sizes will provide the best viewing scenario for your photos.

is this a talent show? a sweepstakes? a contest?
the deb girl model search is just that: a search to find the next deb girl who will appear in a photo shoot, on our website, in an ad in seventeen magazine, and on posters in our 350+ stores around the country. she’ll also take home a crazy amount of deb clothing, accessories, and other goodies. see official prize list for details. see official contest rules for restrictions. so, to answer your question, it’s a contest.
how can i enter?
registering will allow you to submit your full profile and photos, when we open for submissions on july 29th at midnight. if you're under 18, download the model release form (you can access it starting july 29th at midnight), get a parent or guardian to sign it and fax it to (888) 624-4308. submit your profile with two photos - one full body shot, and one headshot (photos must be under 1mb each). if you are under 18 we will not post your profile unless we have the faxed and signed model release form from a parent or guardian.
do i need to be a professional model to enter?
definitely not! have some fun filling out the form and send us your favorite photo. be yourself!
who determines the winner?
you and your friends will vote on your favorites. reality tv fashion designer jay mccarroll and deb will serve as celebrity judges. public votes will make up 1/3rd of the overall vote, jay’s vote will make up 1/3rd of the overall, and deb’s vote will make up the final 1/3rd of the overall vote. it’s more than just a popularity contest because jay and deb will be looking for the girl who most represents deb. that girl could be you!
when can i enter?
we will accept entries from midnight of july 29th to midnight of august 29th.
when can i tell my friends to vote for me?
tell your friends they can vote for you every day from midnight august 30th to midnight est september 13th . they’ll be able to vote for you once every 24 hours. they can vote for other friends, too, but only one vote per person every 24 hours.
when do i find out if i win?
on september 14th, we’ll pick 10 finalists. we’ll have two more weeks of voting, just like the first round but with only the ten finalists and the next deb girl will be announced the week of october 2nd!
all those dates! how will i remember them?
we’ll be sending out reminder emails with the dates on them, but if you’re coming back to the site to vote every day, you’ll give yourself and your friends daily reminders.
who can enter?
any young woman can enter from age 13 to 25 as long as you or someone in your immediate family does not work for deb or one of our associate agencies. (see detailed contest rules if you have a question about that).
can i vote for myself?
of course you can! once every 24 hours during the voting periods. but the real fun will be getting your friends and family to vote for you, once a day, every day! don’t forget about getting your myspace and facebook friends to vote for you, too! here are links to the deb myspace and facebook pages.
if i win, can i bring my mom or dad along on the photo shoot?
absolutely! the prize package includes airfare, hotel and meals for two! in fact, if you’re under 18, you’ll have to bring a parent or guardian along.
